National Director World Vision South Africa

Position to be based in Johannesburg, South Africa with up to 40% travel required.

As National Director – World Vision South Africa, you will oversee the development and strategy of all country operations. World Vision South Africa was founded in 1967 and now serves nearly one-million children, their families and their communities across six out of the nine provinces in South Africa: Gauteng, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State and Western Cap

You are a highly accomplished visionary leader who combines proven business disciplines with inspirational management skills to effectively communicate global initiatives, cultivate relationships, and identify opportunities to successfully drive World Vision South Africa growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership and Stewardship Excellence:
  • Organisational Leadership and Culture:
  • Delivering on Child Well-Being Aspirations/Outcomes, Targets and Programme Quality:
  • Increasing and Diversifying the Funding Portfolio and National Resource Development:
  • Partnering – Internal, external, board and other partnerships
  • Advocacy and Representation
  • Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA)
  • Financial Management and Financial and Operational Audit Compliance
  • Risk Management and Security

Requirements include:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Master’s degree in Management, Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years’ senior management experience, including 5 years’ in a proven sales and marketing role with ambitious sales targets, with overall responsibility for growing the sales portfolio of a profit or not-for-profit company and 5 years’ experience in Governance.
  • Must have extensive life/work and cultural knowledge/experience in South Africa
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal), including excellent computer literacy.
  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel. 40% Domestic/international travel is required.
