Job Description

The West African Health Organisation (WAHO) is the ECOWAS specialized Institution responsible for Health matters. The African Development Bank (AfDB) has provided grants to WAHO to implement a project called “Program for Capacity Building in Nutrition and Food Security in West Africa (PRENFOS)” in order to fast track progress in nutrition in the ECOWAS region. Against this background, WAHO intends to recruit one (01) Consultant to roll out nutrition modules in the Training Curricula of schools of Agriculture.

Consultant’s Mission
The Consultant is mainly responsible for integrating nutrition modules in the training curricula of agriculture professionals in order to strengthen the links between nutrition and agriculture.

Consultants’ Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Professional Officer in charge of Nutrition at WAHO, the incumbent shall work in close collaboration with the Director of Department of Human Resource Development (DHRD) and the Project Coordinator at WAHO. Throughout the process, He/She will work with the Technical and Financial Partners involved in the implementation of the Project.

The main tasks to be discharged by the Consultant are as follows:

• Review existing modules in schools and agricultural programmes, while identifying the areas to be improved.
• Develop and revise nutrition training modules for agricultural programmes.
• Facilitate a workshop to validate the developed modules as well as dissemination of the said modules.
• Strengthen skills of the institutions involved in nutrition education in schools of agriculture.

Duration and Condition for Submission
The mission shall be carried out within a four (4)-month period. The Consultant shall be selected in accordance with the “Rules and Procedures for the Use of Consultants” (ed. May 2008, revised in July 2012), using the Bank and the WAHO’s relevant standard RFP documents under ECOWAS’s Tender Code effective from 1 January 2014.
