Job Description

  • Setup of A/V equipment for presentations, learning events, conferences, seminars, and online web events
  • Testing and troubleshooting of equipment during pre-event practice runs to include suitability of internet connections for media streaming
  • Facilitate live streaming of events through Adobe Connect
  • Audio and video recording of events and presentations, including multi-directional video recording of Q/A sessions
  • Facilitation of Q/A sessions including multi-microphone recording, as well as call in questions from the field
  • Post event editing of audio and video files in order to publish and distribute on the project’s website with Final Cut Pro and iMovie
  • Provide technical support for online-only events including webinars, conferences, webcasts and meetings
  • Produce a wide range of multi-media products including screencasts, audio recordings, video recordings, podcasts, and interactive online modules

Qualifications:

  • At least two years relevant work experience
  • Experience with Adobe Connect for facilitating webcasts
  • Experience with Final Cut Pro, iMovie, and Audacity for editing video
  • Experience with Adobe Audition CC, Logic Pro X and Audacity for editing audio
  • Ability to troubleshoot on the spot during live events and maintain quality under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift, transport, and set-up audio/visual equipment

This position supports USAID’s Feed the Future Knowledge, Data, Learning and Training (KDLT) project, with the objective of improving the emerging USAID Bureau for Resilience and Food Security’s capacity for and quality of knowledge-sharing, data management and analysis, organizational learning, and training. This part-time Digital AV Tech position (50% or up to 20 hours a week) will support multimedia events in support of the program. These include conferences, webinars, and interactive meetings between project offices around the world. The Digital A/V Tech will be responsible for the setup of equipment, testing and run-through of the event, audio and video recording, facilitation of call-in participants, live-streaming, heavy video and sound editing, and distribution of event materiel for all multimedia events. Candidates will require a hands-on knowledge of A/V equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot network and connectivity problems. Candidates will also be required to conduct heavy editing of presentation materiel in preparation for publishing on the project’s website through several audio and video editing suites.
