Patient Experience and Customer Service Adviser (Health)
The Program
The Australian Government has established the Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) to implement its education, health and scholarship aid programs in Fiji and its scholarship and education programs in Tuvalu. The Facility will also support the delivery of Australia’s emergency response efforts following natural disasters, and governance sector support when requested by the Fiji Government.
Support to Fiji’s health sector is one of several key components in the Facility. The focus of the support is on strengthening health service delivery (e.g. maternal services) as well as health systems strengthening (e.g. planning, financial management, workforce development and information).
The Position
Enhancing people’s experience of healthcare services is a key component in patient safety, engagement in their own health, and improved access for marginalised groups. The Patient Experience and Customer Service Adviser will support the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to develop multi-prong program of activities to help enhance people’s experience as they interact with Fiji’s public health services. This will include the experience of marginalised groups including women, people with disabilities, rural populations, youth, elderly and members of the LGBT community. The Person
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a relevant area such as Organisational Development, Anthropology, Learning and Development or other relevant discipline. This will be combined with considerable practical experience facilitating the design of similar patient experience programs in partnership with senior managers and in supporting system level culture change. Demonstrated hands-on experience in evidence-based planning and monitoring and evaluation is required as well as the ability to mainstream cross cutting themes into program activities, including gender equality, social inclusion and child protection. Excellent skills in working with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and in coaching and mentoring professional colleagues is required for success. Previous experience working in the Pacific is desirable.
