About the Role

Cardno International Development seeks a temporary (6 Weeks) full time Payroll Specialist that will provide support to the Senior Payroll Partner as we go through a new system implementation. This position will provide support for all activities necessary to process various payroll cycles. We are looking for someone who has Aurion experience, excellent attention to detail, flexible and proactive in their working style and approach.

Your role will include:

  • Providing end to end payroll support and processing for approximately 300 employees on the fortnightly and monthly payroll including but not limited to setting up of new employees, collation of monthly movement sheet, data integrity checks, addition and modification of leave/payroll codes, calculation and processing of termination payments, replying to general enquires from employees, reconciliation of leave taken on a monthly basis
  • Assist in data migration and system implementation
  • Manage legislative requirements for Australian and PNG staff including payroll tax payments, superannuation and NAS Fund payments
  • Stakeholder engagement, reporting, risk management/ compliance
  • Process year end reconciliation, movement sheet and EOM reporting
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes
  • Manage stakeholder engagement by providing clear and concise communication, consultation and planning whilst managing risk and responsibilities related to payroll across the organisation
  • Complete other duties including specific project tasks from time to time, facilitation, and presentation, as required to meet division expectations


About You:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills/stakeholder engagement & strong experience and understanding of the relevant Australian payroll legislation, including Workers Compensation and Payroll Tax. Experience in Aurion is a must, in addition you will have a solid 3 to 5 years payroll working experience and a strong understanding of payroll systems, Employee Benefits and Leave requirements. You will bring high level Excel skills with a can do and flexible approach whilst forming part of a dynamic HR team. Experience working with PNG legislation would also be highly desirable.
