Job Description

The Philanthropic Partnerships Officer reports to the Executive Director & Chief Global Development Officer. They advance the work of EARTH University through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. They are responsible for developing, expanding, and maintaining a portfolio of major gift prospects who can make six- and seven-figure investments.

This is a remote position that will require travel to visit with donors and prospects as needed as well as to spend time at EARTH’s campuses in Costa Rica.

Essential Functions

· Discover, cultivate relationships with, and solicit gifts from partners capable of investing at the $100K+ and $1M+ level.

· Create a comprehensive strategy for genuine engagement and relationship building, based on the donor’s interests, their philanthropic history and capacity, and EARTH’s needs.

· Develop and manage a portfolio of ~50 current and/or prospective partners, including high-net worth individuals, foundations, and corporate prospects.

· Partner with senior staff and/or volunteers to identify new relationships and execute engagement
strategies; develop meeting briefings, offer strategic guidance, and shape donor communications.

· Develop a high-quality donor experience through regular, personalized engagement.

· Create proposals and other collateral material to support major gift solicitations.

· Track activity by maintaining regular reports that accurately reflect progress toward building relationships and increasing support.

· Develop revenue projections and measure / report performance during the year.

· Exercise ethical judgement and maintain the highest standards of privacy and confidence.
