Program and Project Management Trainer

Background:

Social Impact (SI) is an Arlington-based international development management consulting firm. We provide a full range of innovative management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations, and policies. We provide services globally in the areas of democracy and governance, health and education, agriculture, the environment, and economic growth.

Objective:

SI is seeking experienced training personnel to support an anticipated small business set-aside for the follow-on to USAID’s “Program and Project Management Training” Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC). The project aims to work with USAID’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) and the Office of Policy, Planning, and Learning (PPL) to improve the quality of training for USAID staff in Washington and overseas. The USAID Office of Human Resources, Training and Education Division (OHR/TE) is currently searching for small business sources capable of delivering a range of established instructor led courses in Washington and multiple overseas locations for the benefit of staff.

Job Description for the Program and Project Management Trainer:

  • Refine and implement trainings in any of five theme areas:
  1. Contract and Grant Administration
  2. Project Design
  3. Monitoring and Evaluation
  4. Financial Planning and Budgeting
  5. Procurement Oversight
  • Deliver instructor led development related course in the U.S. and at overseas locations;
  • Develop new courses as and when necessary;
  • Conceptualize and create self-paced intranet courses that augment instructor-led classroom courses;
  • Design and develop new technical courses in support of USAID’s development mandate;
  • Exercise quality control on training outputs; and
  • Supervise/prepare training updates, feedback surveys, evaluations, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in program and project management training;
  • Experience facilitating instructor led and/or distance-learning development related courses in the U.S. and at overseas locations;
  • Experience developing instructor led and/or distance-learning development related courses in the U.S. and at overseas locations;
  • M.A. or M.S. degree in related field;
  • Strong team working and client relationship skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise technical documents;
  • Possesses cultural sensitivities and insights critical for effective classrooms of diverse adult participants;
  • Previous USAID experience highly desirable.

Required - Quality and skills of the trainer will reflect knowledge of USAID training requirements and technical expertise in training areas. Individual instructors must possess a thorough and current knowledge relevant to the course material to be taught. Applicable knowledge would include:

  • relevant operational experience in a mission, bureau, or independent office technical sector related to the course material;
  • experience in drafting and reviewing policy sections of the Automated Directives System (ADS); or
  • experience in managing technical programs in developing countries and/or in a support capacity from the U.S.

Required - Fluency/Advanced Proficiency in English
