Position: Program Development Associate

Location: Washington DC

Reports to: Vice President, Program Development

Position Summary: Responsible for providing a wide range of support to the Program Development Team with research, communications, editing, external contacts, data tracking, proposal production, logistics, and other tasks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Support recruitment process of candidates for inclusion in RI proposals
  • Create, update, and/or maintain databases of consultants and proposal candidates
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, including, but not limited to editing and review of proposal narratives, budget preparation, and annexes
  • Conduct research related to specific program sectors, as needed
  • Research and evaluate potential international partners
  • Track and update potential PD opportunities and awards
  • Provide analysis of donor trends
  • Coordinate logistics and planning for staff conferences and retreats
  • Organize and fully document periodic and ad hoc departmental meetings and teleconferences
  • Support the collection and synthesis of field office monthly reporting
  • Assist in the analysis of program budgets and expenditure data
  • Support the editing, review, and finalization of donor reports
  • Provide administrative support including recordkeeping and data management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree –International Relations or related field preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written and editing
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner with diverse staff and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and carefully review work for accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, ability to act independently to identify and analyze problems and recommend solutions
