Job Description

AusAID is the Australian Government Agency responsible for managing Australia’s overseas aid program. Australia is a dedicated development partner with a growing presence in Africa. The Australian Government has rapidly expanded and deepened its development cooperation with the countries of Africa with a focus on areas where Australian experience and expertise match the priorities of African governments such as natural resource management, water and sanitation and food security.

AusAID is looking for an energetic person with practical experience to support the delivery of its expanding programs in Mozambique. The Program Manager: Mozambique will manage and support the delivery of AusAID’s various programs in Mozambique, with a focus on AusAID’s substantial and growing water and sanitation investments. This will include engaging with partners on program delivery, ongoing monitoring and evaluation of existing programs and meeting internal reporting requirements. This is a non-ongoing position for an initial term of 1 year, with the possibility of extension subject to effective performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s (mandatory) and/or post-graduate (preferable) qualification(s) in water and sanitation or related fields.
  • At least five years relevant work experience. Experience in a development agency is desirable but not essential.
  • Portuguese language skills are highly desirable.
  • Valid passport as the position requires regular travel outside South Africa.
