Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To support Gender Justice and Social Inclusion team in implementing multiple project activities and to ensure local level relationship build up with government authority and service providers through advocacy and negotiation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formation and functioning of men’s and women’s groups as per project demand.
• Implement gender justice project activities at field level as per guideline and instruction.
• Support OXFAM’s gender program to understand language of Rohingya community and their norms and culture in selected areas.
• Conducting and organizing orientation/trainings/debriefings/ action planning/discussions session at host community and in the camp.
• Coordinate with other OXFAM staffs and volunteer in the working areas
• Assist partner’s staffs to have effective implementation of project activities.
• Facilitate/co-facilitate selected awareness and training sessions.
• With supervision from the gender officer, participate in OXFAM assessments or monitoring
• Collect necessary data from field and share with supervisors. Compile detailed daily outputs.
• Informed the gender officer about gender related issues that need immediate action, ensuring that information-sharing is done in accordance with OXFAM guidelines and SOPs in managing information and undertaking referrals.
• Communicate to Oxfam any concern or issue related to the tasks
• Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the gender TL and Oxfam.
• Adhere to Oxfam’s code of conduct

Essentials

For this role, you will need to model Oxfam’s feminist leadership approach so we have selected the most relevant feminist leadership practices which we will use for assessment purposes (which you can read more about here):

In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:

• Minimum graduation in social science or other related subjects
• Minimum 6 months to 1-year work experience in development or related sector.
• Clear understanding of protection and gender issues and safe programming in refugee context
• Ability to implement community-based approach in camp and host community at cox’s bazar area
• Skills to implement awareness raising and advocacy initiatives on gender sensitive issues
• Strong organizing skills with men and boys in terms of gender justice and women’s right
• Experience of conducting capacity building program for community, volunteers etc.
• Good writing skills including weekly, monthly report writing and onetime delivery.
• Strong commitment to establish feminist principles in programming in collaboration other program teams.
