Project Associate: DAI’s Private Sector Development Team is seeking a well-organized, self-motivated individual to serve as Project Associate. The Project Associate will support the administration of development projects within the Financial Services Practice, and will report to the Financial Services Associate Business Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

 Act as “point person” in start-up of new development projects  Serve as liaison between projects in the field and support offices in Bethesda  Monitor pending contracts actions and coordinate timely and responsive support from the home office  Recruit and mobilize short-term consultants and long-term project staff  Track project expenditures and profitability  Perform such administrative duties as making travel arrangements, processing travel vouchers, and auditing subcontractor invoices  Contribute to proposal efforts  Troubleshoot problems and propose creative solutions to project management problems  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree in business administration, economics or international affairs.  Two years of relevant project administration experience required, with USAID experience preferred;  A team player who can work independently and with minimal guidance, but who also excels at consulting and coordinating with the project management team;  Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines;  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;  Ability to provide effective follow-up on individual activities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment;  Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;  International experience desirable; • Fluency in Spanish; and  Working knowledge of MSWord, Excel, and Lotus Notes database software.
