Job Description

Pact seeks an experienced Project Director to lead the implementation of an anticipated US Department of Labor (DOL) funded Project entitled Securing Fair and Reliable Critical Mineral Supply Chains in Indonesia. The project seeks to address forced labor practices that disadvantage American workers and businesses in a key sector for U. S. economic security. This project will focus on improving policy frameworks and systems for monitoring and identifying forced labor, and supporting relevant enforcement and remedial actions, in nickel supply chains in Indonesia’s Southeast Sulawesi province.

This position is contingent upon award of funding and the exact position title, requirements, and responsibilities may change if dictated by DOL.

The Project Director will be responsible for overall project implementation, building solid working relationships with project stakeholders, including public, private, and civil society partners, as well as DOL. They will manage workplans, budget, and field staff, as well as ensure alignment with DOL technical and compliance standards. They will troubleshoot operational challenges and ensure project activities are delivered on time and within scope.

Specific duties to be carried out by the successful candidate include:

• Manage and coordinate the implementation of activities (and lead work related to policy and legal frameworks), including with implementing partners and other key public, private and civil society stakeholders. Oversee evidence-based, adaptable programming approaches to achieve the project’s intended results.

• Oversee project planning (i.e., development of work plans and project budget), monitoring and reporting (i.e., review and approve periodic budgets and technical and financial reports) in accordance with the highest standards.

• Oversee the project budget and work in close coordination with project and Pact Global finance leadership to meet expected results, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Ensure the project makes accurate projections and meets programmatic and financial targets.

• Liaise closely with Pact’s Global teams to ensure that all project activities are compliant with US government rules and regulations, as well as consistent with Pact’s policies, procedures and best practices.

• Manage a team of flexible and adaptive project staff, both in the central and provincial office.

• Establish reporting and tracking systems to collect and provide key information in an efficient and timely manner.

• Represent the project at conferences, working groups, and meetings to support DOL and Pact’s thought leadership in combatting child and forced labor.

• Champion and disseminate Pact’s values and strategic priorities to other staff.

Employee complies with all company policies and procedures, including completing all compliance training topics by the deadline to satisfy each and receiving the corresponding acknowledgment statement that the training has been completed.

All other duties as assigned.
