Palladium is seeking a Project Director for the USAID/MOMENTUM 2A opportunity, a potential upcoming global project focusing on providing targeted TA to USAID missions, partner countries, and local organizations to improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and FP/RH outcomes, as well as contribute to global technical leadership and policy-dialogue for achievement of MNCH/FP/RH goals. The Project Director must have the professional expertise and relationships that demonstrate her/his ability to be a global thought leader in this field, as well as ensure that the global project fulfills its goals and objectives. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. To enable adequate managerial oversight of the project, it is envisioned that the Project Director’s international travel will be limited to 25-30%. The Project Director will report to the VP, Health. This position is contingent upon award and funding.
The Project Director will have the following roles and responsibilities:
* Direct the project’s strategic vision, design, and implementation with the aim of advancing the project purpose, objectives, and guiding principles.
* Oversee a team of senior technical and program management staff and facilitate strong communication and coordination with and between all team members.
* Lead development of annual workplans for timely submission to and approval by the client and ensure that agreed upon activities and targets are fully accomplished, meet expected technical and management quality standards, and are delivered on schedule and on budget.
* Provide oversight of project subcontractors/subawardees, ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, and facilitate regular communication among implementing partners to encourage maximum participation in the project.
* Serve as primary point of contact for the client/donor and ensure communications flow smoothly.
* Develop, manage, and maintain strategic partnerships with USAID, other U.S. government agencies and projects, host-country governments and counterparts, international donors, multilateral organizations, and civil society and private sector partners in developing countries.
* Identify opportunities and negotiate partnership programs to leverage synergistic donor, governmental, and organizational resources.
* Promote sustainability of project aims and activities through engendering ownership by host countries and building capacity of host-country individuals, institutions, and systems.
A total of at least 20 years of experience on public health projects in/for developing countries or countries in transition, including 15 years of progressively increasing responsibility in leading and managing successful USAID programs of global or regional scope in the areas of MNCH/FP/RH or related areas.
