Project Director (Zambia)

We are on a journey of transformation and exponential growth and we are seeking a dynamic, world-class Project Director to drive and oversea our IDeAs program.
About the role
Reporting into the VP: Donor Programs and Delivery this is a great opportunity for a Project Director to manage the program start-up and rollout of multiple field offices by leading all aspects of the project based in Lusaka, Zambia. This is a Senior role with particular focus on providing direction, management, strategic guidance and facilitating collaboration with USG and stakeholder governments and institutions. You will partner with the VP: Donor Programs and Delivery to ensure project deliverables are met within the applicable budget and timeframes. Some of your key accountabilities will include financial reporting, financial risk and control management, grants management and overseeing program logistics and HR. You will have full accountability for ensuring the Program is a success.
You will build strong relationships, both internally and externally with Senior influential stakeholders across the program. Your ability to successfully communicate and present information in a succinct and meaningful manner and influence key decision makers is essential to the success in this role. You should be comfortable with providing strategic guidance to the project team and be able to delve into the detail when required.
Your experience and qualifications
You will ideally have a minimum of ten years senior management experience, managing projects and programs in the Health Information Systems and Electronic Medical Records with in-depth knowledge and exposure to Donor Funded programs. You should have demonstrated experience in leading a team across different functions. Excellent knowledge and experience working on CDC, PEPFAR, and/or other donor-funded HIV/AIDS projects or programs in Africa will ensure success in the role. You should also be able and willing to travel to rural, low-resource settings. As an accomplished leader, you will have a passion for attracting, managing and developing a high performing team and have a strong focus on coaching and mentoring talent.
It is essential for you to have a Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, International Development or any other relevant health related field.
It would be desirable for you to have a Project Management and Business qualification.
