JOB DESCRIPTION:
Main Purpose of the Job: Be responsible for smooth implementation of the Multi-Month Scripting and Dispensing study in the context of MMSD program in Lesotho. The Project Nurse will contribute 100 % of time and effort MMSD study activities collaboratively with health facility team, CAGs and Village Health Workers and local communities.
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, and in collaboration with partners, the Project Nurse will mobilize MMSD study participants and implement study-associated data collection activities at the facility and community levels (i.e. study sites). Will serve as administrative liaison between study sites and the project, and support MMSD intervention components as appropriate. The dy nurse will facilitate enrollment of study participants; collect participant data through interviews as well as review of facility, laboratory and patient records. Will adhere to pre-established work scope, study protocol, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work in a professional manner and maintain good relationships with program facility staff, District Health Management Team (DHMT), program partners, and study participants
- Participate in training, piloting or testing and review of data collection instruments.
- Work with health facility team to ensure timely enrollment of study participants.
- Utilize study data collection forms and keep safely for entry into data system
- Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of data collection activities
- Provide weekly update to the facility Nurse in Charge and Field Coordinators on enrolment progress of study partcipants and advise of any implementation gaps
- Ensure accurate and complete recoding of study data.
- Keeps close liaison with study participnats and responds to quiries
- Ensure study data collection forms and logs are stored in lockable filling cabinents and that all study records are confidentially secured.
- Monitor the progress of study implementation activities; develop and maintain records of study activities as required.
- Implement quality control process throughout the conduct of program assessment
- Provide regular and timely updates to the, study coordinator on progress and issues that impact implementation
- Maintain accurate files and records, both electronic and manual
- Compile monthly reports and submits to Field Coordinator
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Nursing
- Registration with the Lesotho Nursing CouncilP
- Previous research experience as well as experience with data collection desired
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English is a clear asset
- Excellent communication Skills
- Good writing skills (writing samples are welcome)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team
- Experience in working with communities desired.
- Computer competency including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
