OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The Department of Business Management System has a strategic and facilitating role in conjunction with respective business departments in delivering effective and efficient processes and systems in the areas of programme management, human resources, supply, finance and travel that enable the Organization’s operations worldwide.
The Organization’s current ERP, namely GSM (Oracle EBS 12.1.3) and some of its allied systems will have to be replaced as soon as possible. WHO is reviewing the options of replacing the current EBS on premise solution with a cloud SaaS based Best-of-Breed and vertical solution - with a modern set of tools using standard best practice business processes and cutting-edge technology. A new standard solution with minimum customizations will allow WHO to avail of modern technology including mobile access, artificial intelligence and business process automation, and to take advantage of any new technology and features added to the selected platform(s).
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Define the requirements, processes and tools for Transition Planning and Support.
- Maintain an overall integrated transition plan for all BMS projects, conduct regular project management meetings with relevant stakeholders and report on status, issues and risks along with required mitigation actions.
- Coordinate Service Transition activities across projects, implementing partners and internal teams where appropriate.
- Initiate and manage the Service Acceptance criteria (SAC) checklist for the projects under the BMS programme to enable smooth transition into live operation.
- Get the appropriate sign-offs from the support team prior to service go-live.
- Coordinate requests for resources who will support the project post go-live.
- Maintain records and provide management information on project Service Transition progress.
- Collaborate with IMT and other stakeholders, both in HQ and Regional Offices, to ensure a global and consistent approach to service management of the BMS projects.
- Undertake formal quality reviews of the Service Transition, release and deployment plans and agreed transition activities in accordance with the quality management plan.
- Manage BMS Project Management Office assets - action/issue log, risk log. Proactively identify dependencies and critical paths.
- Work closely with the BMS teams including Change Management team to ensure clear, appropriate and timely dissemination of communications of key programme deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential:
- A first-level university degree in Computer Science, Information Management or other closely related field relevant to the position.
- Certification in ITIL Service Management Framework.
Desirable: Certification in Project Management methodology
Experience
Essential:
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, some exposure of which should be at international level, in IT service support, Project Management, Transition Planning and Support, Change Management, Service Delivery, administering services, and communications.
- Demonstrated experience working with teams (physically or virtually) in an international and multi-cultural environment.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience working in agile projects.
- Experience with UN or other international or multinational organizations.
- Experience of working in IT and/or ERP implementation projects.

- Ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders and coordinate activities across multiple parties.
- Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multi-tasking role, managing priorities, and working to challenging timescales.
