General Functions:
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Amman and the direct supervision of the Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA) Global Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing overall assistance and support to
the COA project.
In particular he/ she will:
1. Assist in the overall management of pre-departure sites in Asia, Africa, Europe, Middle East and South America.
2. Assist in maintaining links with the Government of Canada, IOM Missions, Canadian Missions abroad, COA site coordinators and trainers, Service-Providing Agencies (SPOs) in Canada and landed Permanent Resident to Canada holders.
3. Assist with the in-service training and supporting of information needs of a team of multi-ethnic staff throughout the world.
4. Advise and assist COA Ottawa-based training resource developer and support person with inputs from the field.
5. Assist IOM Missions with the establishment of new COA overseas training operations, and preparation of reference and training resource materials.
6. Assist in organizing and delivering mobile training operations in non-COA countries, as required.
7. Collect and coordinate monthly and/or quarterly narrative and statistical reports from sites on COA-related activities.
8. Write in-depth particular cultural profiles to be included in our reporting to the Government of Canada.
9. Assist with the development and implementation of a pre-departure and post-arrival evaluation system.
10. Represent IOM CO projects at international conferences.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
**Desirable Qualifications:
Education and Experience**
a) University degree in Education, Training, Management or other relevant field experience;
b) three years of experience in Canadian immigrant service-providing organization and /or refugee settlement;
c) teaching, training and curriculum development experience;
d) proven management experience;
e) experience in working and handling logistics in refugee
processing locations, an advantage.

h) willingness to work under stressful conditions a distinct advantage.
Languages
Thorough knowledge of English. Working knowledge of French an advantage.
