Job Description

The QED/USA Business Development Unit needs a full-time Proposal Production Support Associate who will focus on supporting the cost and pricing function of the proposal development process. Because of the tight deadlines for proposals and the limited overlap time between the QED/USA and QED/India offices, it is necessary that the person in this position be knowledgeable of the area of work which he/she is going to be employed and can execute the tasks with minimal supervision after initial training. Often the work will require a 24 hour turn-around, or less, depending on the proposal needs and client deadlines.

REPORTING AND SUPERVISION:

Works under the Direction of: QED/USA HQ - Director of Business Development

Responsibilities

Specific tasks for the Proposal Production Support Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Formatting proposal documents, including technical and cost proposals, CVs, graphics, organizational charts, etc. in accordance with the specification of the solicitation;
  • Develop templates and boilerplate pieces for upcoming proposals as well as general proposal templates (CVs, organizational charts, graphics, PPRs, letters, etc.);
  • When not supporting proposals, in coordination with the Director of Business Development, the individual will be responsible for:
  • Developing and maintaining the CPARs database, the Debrief database, and providing analysis for future bids use;
  • Along with the Cost and Pricing Associate, conduct research on competitors, programs, and donors in QED’s priority countries and/or sectors as requested;
  • Monitoring the “Partnering with QED” page on the QED website and appropriately distributing the information to QED HQ BD staff;
  • Participate in weekly Business Development Unit meetings with QED/USA-HQ Business Development Director and Proposal Capture/Proposal BD Managers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Economics or BBA, MBA with Specialization in Finance or Accounts from an accredited college/university;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing production on proposals submitted to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)or the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID/UKAID);
  • Fluency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat (PDF);
  • Have demonstrated experience supporting the technical and cost production/development of Request for Proposal/Request for Tenders submitted to USAID and/or DFID;
  • Fluency in English at the 5/5 level (written and oral);
  • Ability to meet specific time deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
