SUMMARY: The American Red Cross, International Services Department seeks an experienced protocol and events coordinator to manage meetings and events with external partners, scheduling and logistics for key leadership trips and international visitors and act as a central point of reference for all protocol issues. Serves as a member of the Policy and Relations team and provides support to corporate leadership and all International Services program and partnership priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs, plans and organizes externally focused events to meet international relations priorities. Manages the planning and implementation of all logistical aspects of conferences and/or special events, including program design and development, on-site staff and volunteer coordination, arrangements for meeting space, food and beverage and audio visual and print material requirements. Tracks and coordinates calendar of events and representation requirements. Arranges logistics including travel and itinerary development for leadership visits overseas. Helps coordinate timely production of pre-event briefing materials and communicates requirements to staff. Serves as organizational point of reference for all questions related to international protocol.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS required. Certified Event Planner (CEP) with international protocol experience preferred. Minimum three years professional experience in related field preferred. Experience living and working in a diverse or overseas environment preferred. Proven interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy, detail orientation and ability to handle multiple priorities required. Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Must possess strong personal integrity and ability to adapt to changing situations.
