Job Description
SSG is at the forefront of developing and deploying innovative investment and partnership models around the world. As our portfolio of partnership activities grows, we are seeking several mid-level Managers to join our growing team in our Burlington and Washington offices. PPP Managers will be responsible for providing technical and facilitation support of PPPs as well as project management support for a portfolio of client engagements. S/he will also play a critical role in our business development strategy as we seek to grow through the development of innovative market-led solutions. Responsibilities
Technical (35%)
- Support the development and deployment of new PPPs in a wide range of sectors, including food security, natural resource management, citizen security, education and health, leveraging private capital, donor funding and local resources; and
- Provide technical assistance to client projects to identify, build, manage and evaluate PPPs using SSG’s Sustainable Transparent Effective Partnerships (STEP) methodology.
Business Development (35%)
- Play a central role in expanding SSG’s PPP portfolio by developing and expanding client relationships with donor agencies, commercial customers and DFIs;
- Support the capture and proposal development process, including the management of proposals, writing of technical inputs and the coordination of subcontractors; and
- Support SSG thought leadership through blog posts, articles, presentations, etc.
Project Management (30%)
- Serve as project manager for a portfolio client projects, ensuring outstanding technical delivery as well as efficient and compliant budget management; and
- Mentor and supervise junior home office as well as project field staff.
Qualifications
- Not less than 5 years experience in an international development or business context;
- Demonstrated track record in facilitating cross-sector collaboration, preferably for international companies, NGOs, donors or foundations operating in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East or Europe;
- Experience with contractual PPPs in infrastructure or public service delivery helpful, but not required;
- Familiarity with USAID, DFID and/or DFI project management requirements helpful, but not required;
- MBA or equivalent required;
- Working fluency in French, Spanish and/or Portuguese extremely useful;
- Outstanding oral and written communications skills a must;
- US work authorization; and
- Ability to travel up to 30% on short notice.
