Regional Manager: SNNPR

Project Description:

CNFA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for an anticipated USAID funded agricultural development project in Ethiopia.

Position Summary:

Manage implementation of project activities in the field. This will include management of technical activities and close liaison with their respective regional governments and representatives of federal programs, as well as the administration functions of the field office. The Regional Manager(s) will collaborate closely with relevant structures of the Ethiopian government, local partners, and woreda-level stakeholders, as well as market actors present in their Regions. The Regional Manager(s) will supervise a team of staff each assigned to a subgroup of woredas within the Region (Zone or sub-Zone) and ensure that woreda-level activities are closely coordinated with the relevant AGP stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in international development, preferably in agriculture
  • 10 years of work experience managing teams of people in the field (10+)
  • Experience on donor-funded/USAID projects with budgets $10+ million
  • Experience working with USAID funded contract is preferred
  • Master’s degree in economics, business, international development, or other relevant field. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 12 years of experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Amharic, and have native speaker competence in the appropriate local administrative language (Oromo, Tigrigna, or one of the major SNNPR languages, as appropriate).
