Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor is primarily responsible for providing MEL technical assistance to EngenderHealth programs and projects in the region. In particular, the Manager will provide organizational oversight, build capacity and ensure quality in all MEL activities conducted by EngenderHealth programs and projects in the East Africa region (Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda and Kenya). This position will be a local hire. It will be based in either of EngenderHealth’s country Office in East Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess the following requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Master’s in public health or related field; PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in reproductive health or related areas
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in providing technical assistance to field programs in M,E&R, including in building capacity
  • Solid experience in program monitoring and use of data for decision-making
  • Solid experience in the design, implementation and reporting of research and evaluation studies
  • Significant long- and or short-term experience in providing field-based TA in reproductive health, preferably family planning

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills, with knowledge of necessary analytic software applications (quantitative and qualitative, such as Stata, SPSS, and Atlas)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25% time)
  • Fluency in English is required
