DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Main duties and responsibilities: 1. Determine appropriate registration strategies and systems for populations of concern to meet standards for registration and to enhance the management of operations; 2. Determine appropriate methodologies and technology required to implement strategies and achieve standards; 3. Plan, implement and monitor operational projects in regard to registration activities to ensure that provision is made for adequate resources; 4. Support the country team to establish and strengthen their own capacity and that of government counterparts to manage registration and maintain population information; 5. Undertake training of UNHCR and partner staff in registration methodologies, technologies and standards to enable them to conduct registration and to manage registration data on a continuous basis; 6. Advise staff on planned registration activities, review plans and requests to ensure that they are in agreement with standards; 7. Coordinate registration activities between field offices and camps to ensure standardization and consistency of data and its use; 8. Work with the IT manager to ensure statistics and other reports are produced on a timely basis; 9. Perform other duties as required.

LANGUAGEEssential to perform work of post: English, Arabic, Another relevant UN language
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES Training in basic principles of international protection Training in registration and information handling (data base) Demonstrated computer skills, particularly in data management Communication skills
