POSITION SUMMARY
IBTCI is currently seeking a Relief Commodities Specialist for a Syria program. This is a short term consultancy position that can be conducted remotely. The project will establish and undertake independent monitoring of programs inside Syria, and aims to increase understanding of the outputs, progresses, challenges, successes, and lessons learned of the projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Relief Commodities Specialist will provide technical input into the design of the monitoring plan, the data collection methods, and the questionnaires related to data collected about relief commodities (non-food items) activities. The Relief Commodities Specialist will assist in the analysis of the data collected for relief commodities activities.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: The Relief Commodities Specialist should have at least eight years of experience in the humanitarian, transition, or development field working within the logistics, shelter, or a related sector. At least two years of this experience should be with humanitarian programs in conflict zones. Previous experience in Syria is highly desirable.
Education: The Relief Commodities Specialist should hold an advanced degree in international affairs or a related field.
Skills: The Relief Commodities Specialist should have excellent knowledge of the relief commodities field, excellent oral and written communication skills, and analytic skills.
