Description
Org. Setting and Reporting
The incumbent of this post reports to the Area / Camp Relief and Social Services Officer, under the overall technical supervision and guidance of the Field Relief Services Officer.
Responsibilities
Conducts desk study and home visits to refugees applying for Social Transfer Assistance (Social Safety Net Programme (SSNP) and Emergency Programmes); collects socio-economic data to determine eligibility for assistance, and conducts periodic site re-assessments for active recipient cases in accordance with Relief Services Instructions (RSI) or applicable emergency assistance instructions;
Maintains accurate and up-to-date information on families on receipt of social transfer assistance, documentation, data entry/modifications on the relevant database, completing social study reports including rejected, approved, and closed cases;
Identifies/refers refugees facing protection risks or in need of additional social work assistance/ intervention to Area Social Work Supervisor (ASWS);
Recommends - as per instructions for short-term emergency in kind / cash assistance- eligibility for families in crises after conducting initial site assessment, and completing all related work process;
Follows-up the timely delivery of approved cash and/or in-kind assistance to eligible families and follows up on families that failed to collect their due assistance;
Implements/participates, as directed, in surveys and studies in the refugee community to analyse socio-economic trends;
Participates, as requested, in workshops, meetings intended to improve professional knowledge and skills relevant to his/her field of work and transmits such acquired knowledge to other Relief Workers/ newly recruited Relief Workers;
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education
University degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counseling and social anthropology, or other related discipline; (Master degree with 2 years of experience may be considered).
Work Experience
Required at least three years’ experience in providing social work, psycho-social support or counselling in development/humanitarian programmes in governmental, non-governmental or NGOs organizations (Master degree with 2 years of experience may be considered).
Languages
Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Type of Contract: Employment Roster
Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Conditions of service:
Monthly basic salary USD 1,139.60 + SPLAI USD 167
Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
