Job Description

Blumont is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization responsible for implementing relief and development programs worldwide. Blumont is implementing programs in countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.

The Program Report Writer works closely with the Chief of Party (COP), along with other SES II technical teams – Grants, Project Development and Coordination, Engineering, Governance, and Research & Analysis, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Learning (RAMEL) – to develop and produce of publication-quality quarterly performance reports. This position will have responsibility for the development and finalization of the quarterly performance reports (three per year), and annual activity reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as lead for the SES II quarterly performance reports deliverables to the donor
  • Provide timely reporting outlines and final reports for COP review and submission to USAID
  • Adapt program report formats and ensure conformance with donor standards and requirements
  • Facilitate internal workshop sessions for report development
  • Include photos and maps to enhance and support reporting narrative
  • Design graphics to enhance and support reporting narrative
  • Work with SES II technical teams to gain understanding of SES II program activities, project and grant development, and processes
  • Obtain relevant, current, accurate, and technically sound information to shape project reports with focus on innovation and transparency
  • Develop strategic reports on SES II emerging trends, donor priorities, innovations and best practices
  • Produce a well-written, visually stunning product

Additional tasks as needed:

  • Write, revise, and/or edit reports as needed
  • Support preparation of reports development of any other related documents needed by the donor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of English, Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Political Science, International Development, or other relevant field or relevant, proven experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience reporting on program implementation activities in countries under conflict for USAID and/or other relevant donors
  • Fluency in English required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Practical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or other related graphics software

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with or knowledge of local and international NGOs and donors in MENA
  • Knowledge of development assistance programs and organizations

Travel Requirements:

  • If consultant is not residing in Jordan, quarterly travel to Amman, Jordan to conduct assessments and develop reports is mandatory
