Reproductive and Child Health Coordinator (RCHC), Sierra Leone

The Planning and Coordination Specialist will join a small team of experts who will be providing technical assistance (TA) to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) over 3 years, and will be embedded in the MOHS/ RCH Directorate. The focus of the TA is to support the implementation of the RCH Strategic Plan at central and decentralised levels through strengthening the health systems, particularly planning and co ordination.
Responsibilities will include: support for national coordination of the RCH strategic plan through planning, supervising and monitoring the implementation of the RCH strategic Plan /Annual Operation Plan ; ensuring integration/ participation of RCH in the planning cycle of the National Health Sector Strategic Plan (NHSPP) ; providing support for coordination , planning, implementation and monitoring of decentralised RCH and the basic package of essential health services; coordinating with development partners , capacity building and transfer of skills to MOHS staff to ensure sustainability of TA; developing and maintaining strong and supportive relations with counterparts in the RCH Directorate and MOHS as well as with other colleagues and stakeholders
Qualifications: Post-graduate qualification in Public Health, management or other relevant field; 10 years experience in planning and coordination ; capacity building, mentoring and training for different cadres of staff and partners; working in decentralised systems; exposure to international funding systems; and regional experience desired.
