Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Research assistance and analysis
Contribute to outputs and analytical deliverables related notably to the impact of the Two Pillar Solution to Address the Tax Challenges Arising from the Digitalisation of the Economy on tax incentives.
Research and collate inputs to support the analysis of the impact of the two-pillar solution on tax incentives.
Draft reviews of the literature on taxation topics related to tax incentives.
Data collection and dataset management
Assist with the development, collation and analysis of surveys of OECD and partner member countries on tax incentives.
Assist in the cleaning and preparation of data from macroeconomic, firm-level datasets, and data gathered from other online sources.
Verify the accuracy, coherence, quality and internal consistency of the data and metadata.
Manage statistical databases covering a range of statistical activities.
Provide input to policy reports, guidance documents, policy briefs and presentations.
Keep abreast of the work of other international and national organisations (e.g. UN, Eurostat, the World Bank, etc.) on topics relevant to the work stream.
IT work and other tasks
Develop and adapt computer programmes and procedures in a variety of statistical packages, for example SAS, VBA, EVIEWS, etc.
Carry out statistical work in support of the wider analytical work of the directorate.
Assist on other work in the area of business taxation as required, with a particular focus on international tax issues.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
A university degree or equivalent in economics, business, accounting, taxation or a professional qualification in other relevant areas of public policy, preferably with good quantitative training.
Professional Background
At least two years’ relevant experience in policy analysis in the field of taxation; ideally in an international organisation, consultancy, government, development agency or research institution.
Sound numerical and analytical abilities. Demonstrated skills in econometrics would be an advantage.
Experience in handling and analysing large datasets would be an asset.
Good communication skills, including ability to present technical issues to varied audiences.
Some knowledge of the principles of business taxation would be an advantage.
Tools
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or other database management software, proficiency in the manipulation of spreadsheets, ease in the handling of large and complex datasets.
Very good quantitative skills and advanced use of statistical software (e.g. Stata, R, Python).
Languages
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
