The Program Manager will lead the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) program in Francophone Africa and serve as the primary YALI point of contact to coordinate with other USG embassies and agencies, USAID bilateral missions, and the YALI teams in USAID/Washington and other regions. The incumbent will be expected to work independently with guidance received from the Education Deputy Office Director.
As relates to USAID awards supporting the YALI Regional Leadership Center (RLC) and YALI Mandela Washington Fellows (MWF), the Program Manager will: act as Contracting/Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR/COR) or Activity Manager; collaborate with the YALI Points of Contacts at Missions and Embassies in francophone Africa; coordinate with other Mission technical teams; support and develop private sector relationships; and participate in meetings with visiting delegations and other organizations to develop YALI objectives. The Program Manager will build relationships with local and regional companies and organizations in order to leverage additional resources that will build the sustainability of the program.
