The Resilient Coast Project Manager provides technical leadership and support to the Texas operating unit and the Texas Climate Program by planning, managing, and implementing blue carbon and nature-based solutions projects. The Resilient Coast Project Manager will develop and implement conservation and restoration strategies related to innovative blue carbon and nature-based solutions approaches, which includes writing funding proposals to secure public and private support for TNC priorities. This position reports directly to the Resilient Coast Program Director of the Conservancy’s Texas Chapter and is currently grant-funded for at least three years. Significant focus will be placed on project management of ongoing blue carbon and nature-based solutions projects and coordinating these efforts with project partners, contractors, and associated TNC staff.
Essential functions will include 1) acting as liaison with relevant partners and agencies to increase awareness and support the inclusion of coastal wetlands for climate mitigation and adaptation goals, 2) managing service contracts with consultants and contractors to reach project goals, 3) coordinating project team meetings, grant deliverables, and reporting, and 4) building capacity and momentum for coastal conservation and restoration in Texas by supporting, coordinating, and implementing on the ground protection and restoration efforts in Texas in collaboration with landowners, stakeholders, and partners.

The ideal candidate will work in a team setting with other restoration and conservation programs to advance existing programs and assist in developing and undertaking new projects in the region. Manage blue carbon and nature-based solutions projects that include working with public agencies, negotiating contracts, and working with contractors to ensure project completion. Perform tasks with minimal and distant supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment. Network with diverse groups, including, community leaders, landowners, conservation and restoration partners, government officials, donors, board members, and the general public to recruit support for projects and the Conservancy. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
