The Resource/Budget Specialist shall provide day-to-day Management and Administrative services support for OSD CAPE programs and initiatives. He/she shall directly support the Immediate Office, Capability Enablers, Cost Assessment, Analytical Innovation and Program Evaluation deputies.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the coordination/completion of a myriad of business matters, such as transmitting information, obtaining and assembling data, preparation of presentations, communicating inside and outside the directorate(s), as well as calendar/event scheduling
  • Support CAPEs Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs) with daily budget execution activities using internal and external automated systems and organizational processes for CAPE’s Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Research Acquisition Workforce Development Fund (DAWDF) budget allocations
  • Support includes, but not limited to:
    • Processing request for funding commitments
    • De-Commitments
    • Tracking and researching liquidated and unliquidated obligations
    • Utilizing WHS FMD Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) Portal Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment
    • G-Invoicing and using other financial system tools as required
    • Assist with ad hoc expenditure data calls and internal control reporting by data collection, review, preparation and input of submissions
    • Handle data calls that may come from OSD CAPE, WHS or other agencies/offices
    • Support the CORs with development of memoranda, spreadsheets or briefings as required by these data calls.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • BA/BS degree
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Analytical skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to articulate and solve complex problems and concepts
