RETREAT FACILITATOR

(10+ years’ experience required)

SALARY RANGE: Up to $635.77 daily depending on salary history

OPEN PERIOD: September 5th-12, 2012

POSITION INFORMATION: Consulting opportunity (Dates September 24- October 23, 2012, 8 Days LOE)

DUTY LOCATIONS: Washington, DC

Objectives:

USAID is seeking an experienced Retreat Facilitator with expertise in organizational development and teambuilding to plan and conduct a retreat for the Office of Population and Reproductive Health’s research division within USAID’s Global Health Bureau (GH/PRH/RTU). The Retreat Facilitator will be expected to contribute to planning and facilitation of a two-day retreat on October 17-18, 2012, as outlined below. The venue for the retreat will be in the DC metro area, in close proximity to the Ronald Reagan Building.

The draft objectives of the GH/PRH/RTU retreat are to:

  • Clarify goals for the division and define how the division will measure progress towards those goals.
  • Consider the role of the division to support research within the Office of Population and Reproductive Health and the role of the division vis-à-vis the Center for Accelerating Innovation and Impact (CAII).
  • Establish consensus on lines of communication and communication norms within teams and the division.
  • Other objectives as defined by division through a retreat planning/assessment process

The Retreat Facilitator is expected to:

  1. Assist in designing a retreat agenda to address the division’s objectives and needs as outlined above
  2. Facilitate a productive and effective 2-day retreat in order to achieve its stated objectives.
  3. Prepare a final report of the retreat, including decisions made, action items and questions that need further discussion.

Deliverables:

The consultant will help in establishing the agenda for the retreat and serve as facilitator for the retreat to ensure objectives are achieved. The facilitator will also prepare a report that synthesizes results from the retreat.

The following qualifications are preferred:

Over 10 years experience in group facilitation. Proved competence in public speaking, team building, conflict resolution, leadership development, and communication and collaboration skills.
