The Scientist will contribute to the sustainable aquaculture research program by conducting high quality research in small-scale and commercial aquaculture systems aimed at improving on-farm performance. The research will include aspects associated with breed, feed and disease management, where suitable, and will require reporting to a range of funders who support the program. S/he will work closely with other members of the sustainable aquaculture team in collaboration with the broader research teams in Africa to deliver integrated solutions to accelerate sustainable growth of aquaculture, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa. The scientist is also required to undertake research as an effective team member within the CGIAR Research Program on Fish Agrifood Systems (FISH) and new WorldFish sustainable aquaculture research program.

This is an Internationally Recruited Staff (IRS) position with annual salary ranging between USD 53,000 - USD 58,000 per annum.

Time frame and location
This position will be based at WorldFish’s Office in Lusaka, Zambia. Interviews are expected to be held in July 2017. The successful candidate should be available to commence latest by August 2017.
