JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant serves as the lead US accountant on the Controller’s team. They are responsible for all US general ledger accounting activities, including the monthly closing process. They will ensure that account balances are properly stated, transaction descriptions are adequate, and that all supporting documentation is audit-ready. They will be responsible for ensuring that financial management practices and systems are compliant with U.S. and local laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and USAID regulations. The Senior Accountant provides significant support for the EngenderHealth corporate audit, and ensures that all accounts are properly reconciled. They are also responsible for oversight of subaward expense accounting for all EngenderHealth subcontractors and the allocation of indirect costs to projects based on USAID and other donor guidelines and contracts.
