Job Description

Duties

The Senior Planning, Accountability and Coordination Advisor provides advice and support to the Regional Director and managers of the Quebec and Nunavut Regional Office on sound public sector management and performance practices including governance and strategic management, people management, financial and asset management, information management, and accountability.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to staff (1) full-time on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidate for positions within Global Affairs Canada, Quebec and Nunavut Regional Office will be created.

Education

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative.

Experience

  • Significant* experience coordinating initiatives or delivering services related to operations and office administration in at least two of the following areas: human resources, procurement, finance, event planning, executive support or information management.
  • Significant* experience developing a personal network with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Experience providing advice for senior management on policies, directives, standards or guidelines applicable to administration and operations management.
  • Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed these activities over a combined period of at least two years.

Asset qualifications

Post-secondary diploma in a field related to the position.

  • Extensive experience** coordinating initiatives or delivering services related to operations and office administration.
  • Experience managing finances.
  • Experience using financial management software (e.g., SAP, Tipalti, Creatio).
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Experience using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Zoho).
  • Experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Experience supervising employees, including assigning work and monitoring performance.

**Extensive experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed these activities over a combined period of at least five years.
