Overview:

IBTCI is seeking a Senior Agriculture Survey Expert for an upcoming project with (UN) The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project would provide Data Collection and Impact Assessment Survey Services for IFAD on an as-needed basis in a variety of countries. The position is home-based but may require frequent travel to target countries. The purpose of the project is to support IFAD in collecting data and conducting surveys needed for impact assessments in selected countries.

Scope of Work:

  • Support development of surveys, including large-scale agriculture surveys, alongside the broader methodology.
  • Contribute to the design of data entry programs and training materials.
  • Organization and training of field personnel for data collection.
  • Support the analysis of incoming quantitative data from the surveys.
  • Provide other ongoing support to IFAD and other stakeholders.
  • Assist Team in presenting findings as required.
  • Other tasks as required by the Project Management team.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in the fields of monitoring, evaluation and/or impact assessments.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge in the Agriculture sector.
  • Significant work experience in developing countries, including experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-Pacific, and/or Latin America.
  • Language proficiency in French or Spanish preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with IFAD supported projects required.
  • Familiarity with IFAD’s regulations and systems including project management, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in both qualitative and quantitative data collection (mixed methods) is required.
  • Experience in conducting large scale quantitative surveys in less developed countries within the agricultural sector is required.
  • Experience with the design and supervision of data collection and management using tablets is strongly recommended.

Education: Postgraduate degree in Evaluation, Agriculture, International Development, or a related field.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Travel may be required to developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
