Job Description

Description

*We are open to supporting 100% remote work anywhere within the U.S.*

Our small but mighty team moves fast, thinks creatively, and believes in shipping products that users love. We help teams across ICF shepherd applied-AI products from proof of concept to production-grade applications, acting as a startup within the larger organization. Projects have included augmenting technical assistance teams for healthcare, data extraction and fraud detection for energy utilities, and natural language exploration of large datasets. Our clients include both internal teams and external clients.

We’re looking for an experienced senior full-stack developer to join our team and help shape both our technical architecture and product direction from the ground up. You’ll have the opportunity to build end-to-end features that directly impact our PhD-grade subject matter experts and clients while working in a product-focused environment where user needs drive technical decisions.

Our team is fully remote within the U.S., highly collaborative, and values curiosity, empathy, transparency, and customer obsession. We expect the same from you.

Fully remote with the following caveat: When the individual is eventually hired, if they live within 25 miles of an ICF office, they should be classified as Hybrid and expected to use the office at least once or twice per month

What You’ll Do

  • Build end-to-end features that directly impact our clients and subject matter experts, from database design to polished user interfaces
  • Own product initiatives from conception through launch, working closely with our product team to validate ideas through experimentation and user feedback
  • Collaborate with designers to create intuitive, delightful user experiences and provide technical input on UI/UX decisions
  • Drive technical decisions for our stack while maintaining high code quality and system reliability
  • Use data to inform product decisions through A/B testing, analytics, and user research insights

What We’re Looking For

Required Technical Experience:

  • 5+ years of web development experience building production-grade applications
  • 3+ years of strong proficiency in modern web technologies, including React, TypeScript, Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • 1+ years of experience integrating LLMs into production systems with a focus on prompt-engineering, error analysis, security, and reliability
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and modern development workflows
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Product & Collaboration:

  • Track record of leading technical projects from ideation to successful launch
  • Experience working in product-driven environments where user needs drive technical decisions
  • Comfort with experimentation frameworks and using both qualitative and quantitative data to guide development
  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, product owners, and other engineers
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Preferred Mindset:

  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments typical of early-stage startups
  • Enjoy wearing multiple hats and tackling diverse technical challenges
  • Values shipping quickly while maintaining quality and technical excellence
  • Passionate about creating exceptional user experiences

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$118,730.00 - $201,840.00

Applications will be received until this position is filled.
