Job Description

Cardno is an ASX-200 professional services company, with expertise in the development of physical, social, and economic infrastructure for communities around the world.

As part of our resource review and planning for 2016 we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced consultants to support implementation of our project portfolio and contribute to business development activities. While we have a range of needs to support the expansion of our business specific positions will be discussed as suitable candidates are identified.

The range of duties include:

  • Oversight of project delivery in project management or project director roles to ensure projects meets client service expectation and financial targets.
  • Pursuing new business with a primary focus on DFAT and other international donors and clients, through the long term tracking and development of proposals, and providing high quality written contributions to key sections of commercial tenders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including new and existing clients, business partners, and independent development consultants/firms as well as NGOs and other local and international partners.

The range of experiences we are looking for include:

  • While relevant technical experience is highly desirable, preference will be given to candidates who are able to work well in diverse teams made up of both home based and in-country staff, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, high levels of problem solving abilities, and a strong “can do” ethos.
  • Demonstrated donor-funded project management experience, demonstrating detail orientation, proactive attention to outcomes and expectations, and the ability to understand and effectively use financial information. A track record in contributing to the delivering of new business and expansion in key sectors, markets, or clients.
  • High level analytical, written, and communications skills and an ability to apply those skills in managing clients, projects, and securing new business.
  • Established networks among relevant clients and associates.
  • Experience writing high quality international development proposals and reports in English.

Salary and location

  • Positions are intended to be Melbourne based with travel, however as a matter of program delivery staff will have opportunities to relocate in-country.
  • Salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidates based on level of responsible, experience, past performance history, and current market rates. These are not ARF classified positions.
