Job Description
Objective of the Position:
To ensure that MDP programme implementation fit its purpose, is consistent and meets both organizational and donor requirements. Through liaising with regions, MERL and Grant Management Unit perform technical and operational monitoring and advising on the performance of projects, producing data and donor reporting on performance, measuring against set standards and targets.
Responsible for ensuring programme implementation meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordination: Coordinate strategic planning and budget preparation with relevant team members; Coordinating the production of high quality written communications including reports, information documents, research, and studies; acting as primary liaison between the different units, partners, and AKF for grant and donor-related issues;
- Projects Management: Oversee active projects management in planning, implementing and reporting. Providing guidance and quality control for the facilitation and planning of workshops, in consultation with regional team, unit manager, and Grants Management Units.
- Communications: Ensuring delivery of high-quality documents including strategic communications, case studies, and success stories to communicate outcomes of quality activities, review critically different aspect of the program for further improvement and finding the gaps for smooth implementation.
- Work with Policy & Partnerships unit on new project development.
- Reporting: Ensuring timely submission of high-quality donor reports; consolidating data and information, measure it against set standards and targets
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning unit to effectively capture qualitative and quantitative achievements; Ensuring compatibility between monitoring/ database tools and the requirements of the donor; ensuring project teams integrate M&E feedback and focus on project targets
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the National MDP Manager and ensure smooth and effective programme implementation is on a time
- Supervision: Provide management oversight and strategic guidance National Women Economic Empowerment Officer and National Field Operation Officer;
- To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Occasional Significant Duties:
- Oversee MDP Programme in absence of MDP Manager
- Represent MDP in External events (meetings, workshops and seminars)
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Economics, Rural Development, International Development or other relevant discipline.
- At least four years’ work experience in economic development field with national and international organizations.
- Excellent English written and verbal skills
- Thorough knowledge of research and practical experience in developing policies.
