icddr,b invites applications for the position of Senior Director Infectious Diseases Division.
Job Profile:
The successful candidate, reporting to the Executive Director is a seasoned and strategic executive with an international reputation for excellence in the biomedical sciences. The position will be responsible for leading and effectively managing a team of research staff to guide and implement a thematic, transformative research agenda which currently encompasses enteric and respiratory infections, emerging infectious diseases, vaccinology and HIV/AIDS. They will be expected to ensure translation of research to influence national and global policies, achievement of excellence in priority research areas, provision of services that leverage research, and development of relevant institutional capacities. Working closely with other Senior Division Directors, they will develop a cutting edge program of research that takes advantage of the synergies presented by icddr,b’s superb field sites, clinical facilities, and laboratories.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Doctorate in a relevant scientific discipline and will have a strong publication record preferably in one or more of icddr,b’s research areas. They will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the role of a research director or similar.

Compensation:
icddr,b offers an internationally competitive remuneration package paid in US dollars. The employment contract is for an initial three-year term with possibility of extension.
