Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Ethics Officer or their deputy, the Senior Ethics Officer, Investigations, will lead the investigation function of the Ethics Office and contribute to the development and enforcement of AIIB’s ethics-related policy framework, promoting the applicable ethical standards of conduct and embedding them within the Bank’s institutional culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of the Bank’s ethics policy framework, particularly the rules and guidance governing misconduct investigations, ensuring alignment with AIIB’s internal legal framework and relevant international administrative law and jurisprudence.
  • Promote and help embed the applicable ethical standards within AIIB’s culture, including through training and other means of outreach and awareness-raising activities, with a focus on misconduct investigations.
  • Supervise and independently lead or support investigations into alleged misconduct by AIIB personnel, including through fact-finding procedures under the Bank’s misconduct framework.
  • Prepare high-quality investigation reports with evidence-based findings and clear, well-seasoned recommendations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the Ethics Office’s case management system, ensuring accurate documentation and supporting data-driven analysis.
  • Contribute to the Ethics Office’s knowledge management by monitoring developments in ethics practice across international organizations, including prevailing jurisprudence.
  • Undertake other assignments as determined by the Chief Ethics Officer or their deputy, including contributions outside of investigations, in support of the Ethics Office’s broader mandate.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in criminal justice and investigation, law (preferably international law, human rights law, or international administrative law), employee relations, organizational psychology, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience, preferably within an international organization.
  • Strong understanding of international ethical standards and principles.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and interact with tact and sensitivity.
  • Fluency in English is required.
