Project title: Technical assistance for the EU-South Africa Dialogue Facility
Brief description: The overall objective of the dialogue project is to strengthen relations between the EU and SA. Its purpose is to facilitate the implementation of priority aspects of the Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Joint Action Plan (SP-JAP) and raise awareness of the special relationship between the EU and SA. The project will also provide exporters with a guide that is aligned with Protocol 1 of the Rules of Origin.
Tasks under this assignment:
Duration of the assignment: 40 working days in the period 14 June 2018 – 31 March 2019 (indicatively)
Place of assignment: Home based in Europe with a workshop/seminar and working session in Pretoria, South Africa
It will be expected of the Snr NKE to attend workshop/seminar and working session (estimated for 2 x return economy air tickets from Europe to Johannesburg and respective per diems). Travel from home office to Amsterdam for 3 meetings (3 working days) with SARS and NCA.
Requirements:
- Relevant university degree, preferably Masters or Doctorate in the international trade field;
- Excellent research skills;
- A minimum of 10 years research experience and work in rules of origin or international trade work particularly rules of origin;
- Excellent facilitation skills;
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication and drafting skills in English;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure; and
- Strong computer literacy.
