The team

The Project Management Office (PMO) team monitors, advises and reports on the performance of FMO’s portfolio of projects. It supports project owners and project managers in the planning and delivery of projects, addressing issues and risks and providing insights on interdependencies and synergies across projects. The PMO leads the annual and quarterly selection process of new projects and enables informed decision making by the Managing Board.

You will be part of the PMO team, consisting of 1 program manager, 3 project managers, 3 portfolio officers, a project officer and a portfolio analyst.

Your working environment at FMO is a challenging one, in different areas like Risk, Finance, ESG, Impact, Admin/ Operations and Front Office. Our projects usually have a high degree of IT and Data Management complexity.

Your role

As project manager you will have a leading role in the successful execution of a wide variety of projects.

FMO has an ambitious project portfolio and digitalization roadmap requiring strengthening of internal project management and change capabilities. Project managers will be enabled to build upon previous experience and knowledge of the organization, improving effectiveness and increasing the impact on the success of projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the initiation, definition, and implementation of the project.
  • Day-to-day management of the project activities and project team, including planning / budget control, risk management, resource management, stakeholder management, reporting and evaluation.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire the project execution.
  • Develop project team(s) and support the FMO transition towards more agile work methodologies and the growth and development of change capabilities in the organization.
  • Contribute actively to the improvement of FMO’s project management processes.

Your background

Independent and self-starting with a hands-on mentality and result oriented mindset, that is you. Relationship capabilities, cultural sensitivity and pro-activeness are keys to be successful as a project manager. You have the ability to adapt the set-up of the project to the characteristics of the project and the maturity of the stakeholders. You are able to influence and have analytical skills with attention to structure and detail.

Additionally, you possess:

  • University degree in in Business Administration, Business Economics or Business Computer Science.
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience in (IT) project / program management, of which 5+ years in an Agile project management environment.
  • Proven track record of successful completion of projects as a project manager.
  • Knowledge of process/data/system architectures and design principles, application of frameworks.
  • Strong command of English, both verbally and in writing.
