Department Summary

The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Department manages and optimizes ClimateWorks’ technology and information systems to support organizational objectives. Responsibilities include:

  • Development and maintenance of the long-term systems architecture roadmap
  • System implementations, feature enhancements, and functionality improvements
  • User support and help desk services
  • Risk management and cybersecurity
  • Infrastructure management and network administration

The Information Systems team collaborates with the Global Intelligence Department, specifically the Climate Philanthropy team, to curate and maintain systems and processes for collecting, storing, analyzing, and sharing climate and philanthropic data.

The Senior Project Manager, Information Systems reports to the Senior Associate Director, Information Systems, managing a portfolio of technical systems projects from intake to delivery and support. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, anticipating risks, aligning interdependent workstreams, and ensuring projects stay on track.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of technical systems projects through the full lifecycle: intake, goal and scope definition, prioritization, requirement development, implementation, delivery, and post-launch support
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ranging from small initiatives to complex implementations
  • Develop comprehensive project plans for large, cross-functional technical projects
  • Manage project scope, anticipate risks, and proactively identify solutions to keep projects on track
  • Identify dependencies and operational impacts across projects to ensure efficient sequencing
  • Conduct needs assessments for current and forecasted projects through collaboration
  • Manage project documentation, communications, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, better user experience, adoption, and automation
  • Document technical workflows and research solutions needed for system enhancements
  • Prepare user stories, acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams, and other requirement documentation
  • Lead cross-functional teams through challenges while mitigating risks and ensuring alignment
  • Create reporting and communication frameworks to keep teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders informed
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical or systems project management
  • 4+ years of Salesforce experience in a relevant role
  • Experience managing projects requiring system integrations
  • Proven success managing technology implementation projects across multiple departments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong relationship-building skills across an organization and effective collaboration
  • Skilled at needs analysis and evaluating business objectives for holistic prioritization
  • Ability to navigate complex or ambiguous situations and create structured plans
  • Outstanding communication, organization, risk mitigation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings and ensuring action items are documented and executed
  • Proficiency in project management tools and frameworks
  • Experience leading change to improve organizational processes
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities under pressure
  • Commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Salesforce Administration proficiency
  • Experience working within a consulting firm
  • Familiarity with data taxonomies for categorization and classification
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Experience with Snowflake and data pipelines
