Job Description
CDM Smith is searching for a highly qualified Scheduler for a large and complex integrated water resources management program in Tanzania. The objective of this project is to strengthen integrated water resources management in Tanzania to support productive sectors; and improve water supply service delivery in urban areas.
Job Responsibilities:
The project scheduler shall develop and maintain project schedules during planning, design and construction phases. The scheduler will and identify schedule delays, and monitor progress daily - culminating in monthly reviews that compare actual progress with the original schedule and to report reasons of schedule delays as a result of constant communication with the team by email, phone, and site visits. Beyond identifying deficiencies will be the goal of seeking and agreeing upon corrective actions that will bring the scheduled completion date into compliance. Detailed Responsibilities include:
- Planning & Scheduling: Document planning considerations, conditions, and objectives required to develop the schedule. Create a compliant baseline schedule in accordance with Program goals. Input project activity codes into schedule.
- Measurement & Analysis: Gather monthly schedule update and input on individual projects. Calculate the schedule and assure run quality. Produce analytical and variance reports and work with team to assess and make corrective action. Document any schedule change and investigate potential delays. Run any what-if options to determine best work around alternatives.
- Progress Reporting: Prepare schedule text for monthly progress reports. Run monthly layouts, sorts, filters, and organize reports and schedule diagrams and analyze progress and variance for trending and analysis.
- Additional Project oriented functions: Maintain and file schedule deliverables into document control system. Track and integrate into the schedule permitting, environmental, and regulatory compliance needs and associated risks.
*Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. in engineering, construction management or related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience engineering or construction project controls scheduling or related experience; with a strong preference for experience in similar work in Africa
- Construction field experience preferred
- General knowledge and understanding of construction documents (Specifications & Drawings) and overall engineering standards
- Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Oracle Primavera Scheduling and Contract management tools
- Fluent command of spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
