Position Summary

Futures Group is recruiting for a short term translator (on an as needed basis) between March 1 and June 30, 2015 to support the Health Policy Project (HPP) in Guatemala. Consultant can work remotely and does not have to be in Guatemala.

Requirements:
• Native Spanish and fluent English speaker required
• Very strong written Spanish and English, ability to translate written documents;
• Close attention to detail in oral and written translation;
• Experience translating for both one-on-one and large meetings;
• Familiarity with health policy terms preferred; and

Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct interpretation and translation services as an independent consultant
• Provide consecutive Spanish to English and English to Spanish interpretation for large and small meetings;
• Translate written documents from Spanish to English and English to Spanish that may be technical in nature;

Qualifications
• Must demonstrate fluency in English and Spanish languages;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Effective time management skills;
• Professional demeanor and appearance;
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word;
• Awareness of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

Deliverables
• Consecutive translation services as required; and
• Translation of written documents as required.
