DAI is currently seeking a Social behavior change and community mobilization (SBC) Lead for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Community Nutrition and Health Activity in Bangladesh. This Activity will focus on addressing nutrition outcomes of the most vulnerable segments of the population through a targeted community-health system strengthening approach.

The Social Behavior Change and Community Mobilization Lead (SBC) Lead will act as the lead for Result 2 activities focusing on increasing the adoption of critical-priority nutrition, family planning, sanitation and hygiene and other health behaviors through targeted and tailored innovative partnerships with local organizations and campaigns designed to drive social and behavior change at the community and household level.
The Lead will engage with existing government structures and policymakers, contribute to SBC frameworks, activities and materials and identify community-based organizations for collaboration as part of the approach to engage particularly women and children to adopt healthy behaviors. This position will report to the Technical Director and will be located in Dhaka and is contingent upon donor approval and funding.
Qualifications.
· Post-graduate qualification in public health, nutrition, health sciences, communication or related field
· 10+ years’ experience of working in social behavior change and community mobilization in Bangladesh
· In-depth knowledge of Bangladeshi health system and in particular knowledge of existing social behavior change strategies and the eco-system of community-based organizations working on nutrition, family planning, and sanitation, and hygiene issues
· Prior experience in a senior technical position, preferably for a USAID - or other donor-funded health programs
· Knowledge and experience of the following: social behavior change, maternal, newborn and child health, nutrition, family planning, WASH
· Experience leading a team in the design and execution and measurement of social and behavior change activities and community-based partnerships
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with a team of varying backgrounds and expertise
· Excellent oral/ written communication skills in English
· A demonstrated commitment to gender and social inclusion
