Corus International is seeking a Special Assistant to the President & CEO to join the President’s Office at the Headquarters in Washington, DC (1730 M Street, NW).
Position Summary:
The Special Assistant to the President & CEO reports to the Chief of Staff and serves as an integral member of the President’s Office. The Special Assistant functions as an Office Management Specialist (OMS) and is a trusted, highly organized thought partner responsible for managing the executive operations of the President & CEO.
The Special Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide the President & CEO and the Office of the President with the highest level of care. The role manages communications with staff and key internal and external stakeholders; coordinates day-to-day executive operations; plans and executes complex meetings, travel arrangements, and logistics; develops high-quality materials, including presentations, spreadsheets, and written correspondence, and ensures the accurate and timely flow of information to and from the President’s Office.
Additionally, the Special Assistant works closely and collaboratively with Corus executive coordinators to strengthen coordination across the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), support alignment and collaboration among departments and functions, and maintain visibility into cross organizational initiatives and activities.
The Special Assistant represents the President & CEO with a high degree of professionalism and is expected to operate with autonomy, exercising independent judgement and discretion, problem solving ability, and exceptional attention to detail in the execution of all responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day executive operations of the President & CEO, including email and calendar management; planning meetings and events; executing complex itineraries and logistics; preparing and distributing materials (presentations, spreadsheets and correspondence), ensuring technology readiness and configuration; and proactively ensuring the President & CEO is fully prepared for all engagements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on behalf of the President & CEO, managing correspondence with senior leaders, board members, partners, and external stakeholders, and exercising sound judgment and discretion in message handling.
- Manage and maintain key relationships on behalf of the President & CEO, serving as a trusted liaison to ensure effective communication, alignment, and follow through with priority stakeholders.
- Manage the President & CEO’s priorities, commitments, and action items to ensure timely follow-up and completion.
- Manage all domestic and international travel arrangements, including expense management by working closely with Finance to reconcile expenses and secure reimbursement; provide support for timecard and expense management for the President & CEO’s direct reports.
- Conduct high-level research and manage high-priority initiatives and special projects aligned with the President’s & CEO’s goals and organizational priorities.
- Meet regularly with Corus executive coordinators to align executive calendars and support initiatives that strengthen Executive Leadership Team collaboration, communication, and connectivity.
- Support effective and timely decision making across the organization by representing the President & CEO’s priorities with sound judgment and discretion.
- Partner with department members to develop project plans, track progress against objectives and timelines, and provide regular status updates during team meetings.
- Partner with colleagues to plan and manage cross departmental and organization wide events and activities.
- Provide support and oversight for company registrations, filings, governance documentation, and representations and certifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience supporting C-suite or senior leadership; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working effectively in a multicultural workforce.
- High-level of discernment, sound judgement, and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, and complex matters.
- Demonstrates consistent professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach.
- Ability to remain composed, courteous, and positive under pressure.
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage complex schedules, and maintain efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced executive environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook; willingness and ability to adopt and utilize Microsoft Copilot in daily work (training provided).

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment
- Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
- This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic business purposes.
- If applicable, must have authorization to work in the country of assignment.
