Your role:
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Strategic Partnerships Intern to help streamline and strengthen Kiva’s fundraising and partnership materials. This role will focus on consolidating existing presentations and pitch decks, creating audience-specific templates, and designing a sustainable system for ongoing management. This role will also have the opportunity to support other business development initiatives (e.g. conference preparation).
Through this internship, the selected candidate will gain hands-on experience in pitch development, storytelling, and partnership strategy for a variety of audiences—including corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors. They will have the opportunity to create lasting impact by helping Kiva build a more efficient and effective toolkit for partnership engagement—work that directly contributes to getting more loans funded and expanding financial inclusion worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Audit and organize all existing SPCC pitch decks, presentations, and proposal materials across corporate, foundation, and individual donor audiences.
- Develop an accessible system (e.g., shared folder or database) to catalog and tag past decks for easy future reference.
- Assist in content curation—selecting high-quality slides and storytelling assets from past decks to build a central library of approved visuals, impact data, and talking points.
- Design processes for keeping slides, metrics, and messaging up to date in coordination with SPCC and cross-functional partners (e.g., Impact, Marketing, Programs).
- Collaborate with audience owners to create standardized, audience-specific template decks (corporate business development, foundations/private funders, and individual donors).
- Support ad hoc presentation design needs for active partnership opportunities and leadership presentations, ensuring consistency in Kiva’s brand and voice.
- Document and share recommendations for long-term storage, maintenance, and version control to streamline future deck-building workflows.
- Support conference prospecting efforts, including researching attendees, identifying potential partnership leads, and compiling briefing materials for Kiva representatives.
- Provide general business development support, such as assisting with background research, drafting meeting prep materials, and contributing to special projects as needed.
Preferred qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age or older by January 13, 2026
- Able to commit to the full 6-month term
- Strong critical thinking, with an eye for detail and ownership of your work
- Enjoys problem-solving and relationship building
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly proactive and able to work independently
- Highly organized individual with an aptitude for working in a start-up environment.
- Intermediate skills in Google docs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
