Job Description

Background:

Social Impact is managing a task order to conduct a performance evaluation of water supply projects implemented by the USAID Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) in Zimbabwe since FY 2009.

Objective:

The project is seeking to hire a consultant to serve as a Senior-level Water Supply Expert. The Water Supply Expert will assist the Team Leader and Evaluation team in assessing the technical merits of the USAID/OFDA water supply programs in Zimbabwe and in providing technical inputs for various contract deliverables throughout the contracted period of performance. The expert must be able to travel with the evaluation team to Harare and surrounding areas to collect data during the rainy season.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in a technical field related to water supply;
  • Experience: Must have at least 15 years of work experience in the implementation and/or evaluation of water supply and sanitation programs similar to those being evaluated in Zimbabwe;
  • The Expert should have knowledge about water supply provision in Zimbabwe;
  • Knowledge of water supply issues in Zimbabwe, USAID/OFDA’s partners and USAID/OFDA is preferred;
  • Strong attention to detail and writing skills;
  • Ability to work as a team;
  • Ability to meet established deadlines; and
  • Fluency in English is required.

Period of Performance: September 2013 – April 2014
